The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. Efficacy ofesomeprazole(Nexium 24HR) in improving the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) has not yet been established and is still considered a treatment option. The objective of the study was to assess the efficacy of Nexium 24HR in the treatment of GERD. Thirty patients with symptomatic GERD were randomized in a double-blind, placebo-controlled, double-dummy, open-label, and double-dummy double-dummy study. The study was performed between November 2006 and December 2008, in combination with placebo. All patients received Nexium 24HR 20 mg once daily at 8 and 12 hours. All patients were treated with Nexium 24HR 20 mg once daily for 4 weeks. The patients were then assessed by gastroscopy, endoscopy, and breath hydrogen test. The mean age was 54.8 years (range 18-82). The study showed a significant reduction in GERD symptoms in the patients treated with Nexium 24HR (p < 0.01) and a statistically significant improvement in GERD symptoms in the patients treated with placebo (p < 0.01). In addition, a significant improvement in the severity of symptoms was observed in the patients treated with Nexium 24HR (p < 0.01) compared to the patients treated with placebo. A significant improvement in the severity of symptoms was observed in the patients treated with Nexium 24HR (p < 0.01) compared to the patients treated with placebo.
